The Technology Behind Astrobility

What calculates your chart, and what writes your reading

Swiss Ephemeris

Every calculation starts here. The Swiss Ephemeris is the astronomical library behind most professional astrology software, and it places the planets to within a fraction of an arc-second. Each placement in your reading comes from the actual positions of the planets at your birth, worked out for your time and place rather than looked up in a table.

Lahiri Ayanamsa

For the Vedic chart, Astrobility uses the Lahiri ayanamsa, the standard in the Indian government's official almanac. It converts the tropical positions used in Western astrology to the sidereal zodiac, which is how your nakshatra and its pada are found.

BaZi Pillar Engine

BaZi, the Chinese Four Pillars of Destiny, takes your year, month, day and hour pillars from the traditional sixty-year cycle, where ten heavenly stems pair with twelve earthly branches. Counting the five elements across those pillars shows which are strong in you, which support you, and which push against each other.

Pythagorean Calculation

Your numbers come from Pythagorean reduction, keeping the Master Numbers 11, 22 and 33 when they appear. The Life Path comes from your birth date, the Expression from your full birth name, and the Soul Urge from the vowels in that name, each worked out the traditional way.

AI Synthesis Engine

Once the four charts are calculated, Google AI writes the reading. It receives your placements in all four pillars with Astrobility’s instructions for how to read them: start from what the pillars agree on, write about you as one person, and name each placement only once. The instructions are what make it an Astrobility reading.

Privacy-First Architecture

A free reading is calculated and delivered to you, and your birth data is not saved. If you join, your account keeps your Quadsign and Trisign, never the birth data that made them. The Daily is the one service that holds your birth moment, at the reading engine, and only while you receive it. When a paid reading is made for you, the reading engine also keeps your email with that chart’s birth details, so that the paid readings on one email stay with one chart. To have that removed, write to contact@astrobility.com.
