Western Astrology

Sun Sign
The zodiac sign the Sun was in at your birth. Represents core identity, ego, life purpose.
Moon Sign
The zodiac sign the Moon was in at your birth. Represents emotions, inner self, subconscious needs.
Rising Sign (Ascendant)
The zodiac sign rising on the eastern horizon at your birth. Represents outward personality, first impressions, life approach.
Houses
12 divisions of the sky representing different life areas (career, relationships, home, etc.).
Aspects
Angular relationships between planets (conjunction, opposition, trine, square, sextile).
Tropical Zodiac
Zodiac system based on Earth's seasons, aligned with the vernal equinox. Used in Western astrology.

Vedic Jyotish

Nakshatra
27 lunar mansions dividing the zodiac. Represents subtle soul qualities and karmic patterns.
Dasha
Planetary period system showing timing of life events and karmic activations.
Sidereal Zodiac
Zodiac system based on actual constellation positions. Used in Vedic astrology. About 24° behind tropical zodiac.
Jyotish
Sanskrit term meaning "science of light." The traditional name for Vedic astrology.
Dharma
Life purpose, righteous duty, soul's path. One of the four pillars of Vedic astrology.

Chinese Astrology

BaZi (Four Pillars)
System analyzing birth year, month, day, and hour. Each pillar has a Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch.
Five Elements
Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water. Fundamental energies that create and control each other in cycles.
Heavenly Stems
10 celestial energies (Yang/Yin forms of five elements) representing external expression.
Earthly Branches
12 terrestrial energies (the animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, etc.) representing internal nature.
Day Master
The Heavenly Stem of your birth day. Your core elemental nature in Chinese astrology.

Numerology

Life Path Number
Derived from birth date. Represents life purpose, natural abilities, major lessons.
Expression Number
Derived from full birth name. Represents natural talents, abilities, what you're meant to express.
Soul Urge Number
Derived from vowels in name. Represents inner desires, motivations, what your soul craves.
Personality Number
Derived from consonants in name. Represents outer personality, how others see you.
Master Numbers
11, 22, 33. Not reduced to single digits. Carry heightened spiritual significance.
